Ages 5 and Up June 12 - 16 Part Piano Part Guitar All Fun Enrich your child in this awesome camp that introduces the Piano and Guitar to students Students will get hands on training as the explore and learn about the Piano and Guitar The students will participate in games and activities as they learn more about the Piano and Guitar The students will get to learn fun songs as they explore more about the instruments Students will work collaboratively to decide on songs that they would like to explore and learn on the Piano and Guitar Students will be introduced to the keyboard, note values, and the grand staff. Students play in C 5-finger scale patterns, develop recognition of steps and skips, and learn letter names independent of finger number. Musicianship is built through the use of dynamics and coloristic experimentation with the pedal. The camp is organized into units which represent the major concepts and skills. As new units are introduced, earlier concepts and skills are continuously reviewed. This course is designed for anyone just learning to play acoustic or electric guitar. The students will be introduced to tuning; playing position; musical symbols; notes in first position; C, G, G7, D, D7, A7, and Em chords. They will also learn rhythms through eighth notes; strumming and picking. The students will be introduced to Top Hits Songs, and other examples of playing the guitar. The showcase will be Virtual and shared with parents All materials for class are included
